In late 2018, presented with the opportunity to document a resident population of aboriginals known as Bhils, I drove ten hours to the border between the states of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. It was my first experience with marginalized forest dwellers who are often threatened by conservation policies.

Seeing nature and wildlife through a forest dweller’s perspective was one that I wasn’t previously exposed to; and it is this experience that has led me to contemplate and ideate a bigger project on the issue.
